Introducing Thinkful…Therapy for the Everyday You

Thinkful was born out of wanting to make a serious change to the mental health industry.

After working in HR for various corporations for the majority of my professional career, I saw a gap in the counselling space that continued to grow larger as time went on. The mental health sector is complicated, becoming increasingly inaccessible for the everyday person. While working with hundreds of people just like you, I realised that there was a desperate need for a no-nonsense mental health solution for busy professionals. 

Too often we get caught up in the everyday slog of real life. It feels monotonous, heavy and exhausting, and without support the dark hole creeps up faster than we realise. We are busy, buried deep into the hustle culture we are led to believe is imperative for survival. But it’s making us sicker, mentally and physically, making every day just that little bit more difficult. We are in the middle of a serious mental health crisis in this country, and therapy is becoming increasingly inaccessible to those who would benefit it. The misinformed view that a GP mental health plan is compulsory in order to seek help, is hindering a lot of people and being placed in the too hard basket. Having access to talk to someone throughout life’s up and downs is a necessity for your overall wellness. We are here to break down the barriers put in place by a broken system to get you the help and support you need.

So Thinkful was born. I wanted to create a therapy solution that was accessible and helpful to everyday people, a no-judgement, no holds-barred space where you can unload all of the challenges you are facing, and together we strategically work towards moving forward. Sometimes all it takes is time to have a vent, space to gain an outside perspective, to completely change the way we think and live. We lead busy lives, so having both in person clinics and virtual options for appointments was an incredibly important aspect for bringing Thinkful to fruition.

Think of therapy like a gym membership – you know exercise is good for both your physical and mental health. So, you sign up to your local gym, meet and connect with others and stick to a plan. This is the basis of Thinkful – we want you to really think about your mental health, consider it just as important as the time you invest in your body, and use intentional therapy to better both yourself and your everyday life.

We have our in person clinic in Umina Beach on the Central Coast and if life is chaotic, you can book in for a virtual consult from the comfort of your own home or office. I know how difficult it is to fit in appointments when your day is stacked with meetings so having the ability to check in via zoom during your lunch break? This is what you’ve been waiting for.
